Charlene D. Davis is a director at Bayard. Charlene’s practice focus is bankruptcy/creditors’ rights and commercial litigation. Charlene regularly represents creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees and debtors in many large bankruptcy cases. She is an experienced federal litigator and a former Assistant United States Attorney. Charlene joined the firm in 1988. She currently serves on the firm’s executive, associates and marketing committees.
Charlene currently serves as Secretary to the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association. She was recently designated as a Delaware Super Lawyer for 2007 in the areas of bankruptcy & creditor/debtor rights in the June 2007 issue of Philadelphia Magazine.
Charlene is a past member of the Advisory committee to the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, and a past President of the Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Charlene also served as a member of the Advisory committee to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals from 1996–1998 and on the Third Circuit’s Bench-Bar Relations committee. In 1996, Charlene was named as the first recipient of the Caleb R. Layton Service Award by the judges of the Federal District Court in Delaware. From 1989 through 1997, she served as a member of the Federal District Court CJA Blue Ribbon Panel.
Charlene authored a chapter related to appellate practice in Federal Practice Guide—Federal Appellate Procedure Third Circuit (Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, 1997).
