Scott G. Wilcox is an associate at Bayard. Scott focuses his practice in the area of general commercial litigation handling real estate, zoning and land use, construction law and environmental matters. His practice also includes counseling clients with various business litigation matters. Scott currently serves on the firm’s associates committee.

Prior to private practice, Scott served as a First Assistant County Attorney for New Castle County. As an attorney for New Castle County, Scott’s primary focus was acting as counsel for the Department of Land Use. Additionally, he provided legal guidance and representation to other County Departments such as the Department of Special Services, New Castle County Council, and Department of Police. Scott also served as a prosecutor in the State Attorney General’s Office Criminal Division.

While in private practice, Scott has represented clients in the Delaware Superior Court, Delaware Court of Chancery, and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. He has represented various government bodies, including the State of Delaware Department of Transportation and New Castle County in litigation involving real estate and zoning and land use matters. Scott has also represented international clients in asbestos and benzene litigation and in toxic tort matters.

Scott frequently speaks to professional organizations on topics including construction law and contract documents. Scott is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Delaware Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and volunteers his time to help other non-profit organizations.
